Hollard
The client is a well-travelled gentleman who wanted to create a bolthole while home that reminded him of his travels. The home needed to have a modern character vibe whilst functioning as an entertainers home for visitors from abroad. To make the most of a modest corner section, we opted for a splayed pavilion home enabling lots of light to enter the home providing shelter to private spaces when outside entertaining under the vines along with a comprehensive irrigated vege garden.
The exterior features weatherboard and locally sourced stone and has strong street facing gables while internally, warm timber floors and Italian tiles make for a European inspired interior Ducted AC and in-slab heating powered by solar make for a cosy interior. The vaulted ceilings also add a lofty villa touch and there’s a window seat to sit and read a novel in the sun.
A study catches the morning sun to get inspired and a scullery for entertaining, serves the clients’ needs well. The kitchen at the heart has seen many long nights with good wine already and the living can be configured to accommodate a large or intimate group.
